Lorena Dorizzi is a cellist and lives in St. Gallen. In July 2014, she completed the Master of Instrumental Music Education with Martina Schucan at the Zurich University of the Arts. Since September 2015 she is studying at the Lucerne University of Music in the Master Interpretation in Contemporary Music with Erik Borgir. Her musical experiences are very diverse, with contemporary music and improvisation being a focus of her studies. In 2016 she received a grant from the Ausserrhodische Kulturstiftung.
She received important musical impulses from, among others, the Carmina Quartet, Ensemble Recherche, Rohan de Saram, Lucas Fels and Lucas Niggli. She plays in various projects and works in various chamber music formations works from baroque to contemporary composers. She is a board member of the association Contrapunkt / New Art Music St. Gallen. She teaches violoncello at the Musikschule Herisau and the Musikzentrum St. Gallen.
